Descubrí que también International House Quito, brindaba cursos de nivelación en el idioma inglés, cursos preparatorios para el IELTS y que, además, es un instituto autorizado por el British Council para tomar el examen.

Let me tell you, there is nothing you can do to fully prepare for the challenges that lie ahead. Is it worth it? Absolutely!
CELTA is time consuming (do not take this lightly). Prioritization, organization and balance are some of the key elements to CELTA success. I have improved in many areas of my career as a result of the CELTA experience, to include planning and delivery of teaching.
The support from the tutors is awesome. Their aim is to ensure that you do well on the CELTA course and become better at what you do, whether it be teaching or otherwise. Listen to your tutors! Be open minded and do exactly what they tell you to do – these are the things, that will not only help you to improve, but also, to be a successful candidate.

“I would definitely recommend the part-time online CELTA course offered by IH Quito to anyone who wants to gain the knowledge and experience on how to teach English to adults. I have been an educator for more than 18 years to primary and secondary school students, but I really wanted to venture into the world of teaching English to adults as a means of expanding my teaching repertoire. This course has allowed me to develop my adult teaching skills in the areas of time management, questioning techniques, strategies for giving feedback and my overall lesson delivery.
The trainers were very supportive and always took the time to provide the critical feedback that I needed to improve as an ELT tutor. They were also very knowledgeable and more than willing and available to share their expertise on how I could improve on my content and delivery. They set high standards on quality and efficiency that motivated me to want to become a better ELT tutor. I would like to recommend the CELTA course; it has been an excellent opportunity to attain various abilities. To start, I would like to say that I had always enjoyed teaching English classes without a previous formal training. I was amazed with the course because it trains teachers to be able to plan classes that allow the students to discover the language for themselves; hence, promoting learning. The teachers taking this course will be able to design creative and fun classes that are student centered.
Additionally, I was trained for using different computer programs as well. For instance, Zoom does not only offer to connect with people around the globe, but it is also a wonderful teaching tool.
Moreover, the course provides access to the most important books on teaching and grammar that will give you the tools required to succeed teaching face to face or online.
In conclusion, I recommend this course for all these past reasons but mostly the importance of listening rather than talking more than needed, is a life lesson.

The IH Quito Celta course gives credence to the notion that education should be a lifelong journey. I sauntered into the course thinking I would just pick up some tools needed to deliver lessons more effectively to my growing number of ESL learners; however, the process has enriched my general approach to teaching even more, and I have begun to use some of those strategies in my L1 classes as well.
This course applies a constructivist approach to teaching and learning, which in turn causes the trainee to put him/herself in the position of the student. As a result, I have become more creative and reflective in my teaching methodology.
In addition, I have benefitted so much from the invaluable expertise of master tutors who modelled lessons and gave constructive feedback about lesson plans, assignments and teaching practices. The tutors were also very accommodating, and motivating when things seemed daunting.
Overall, I will be strutting out of the course more equipped as a teacher and would definitely recommend the Celta course to others who want to upgrade their skills.
